“The Plague” is a book written by Albert Camus in 1947. The story is set in Oran, a city in French Algeria, and describes what happens when a deadly disease spreads through the city. We don’t know who the person telling the story is until the last chapter. The book shows what life is like in Oran during the plague.
The Rebel by Albert Camus is an exploration of the implications of the act of rebellion in response to facing the absurdism that the world has to offer. It was first published in 1951. This happens to be my second read after The Stranger by the same author. Being a collection of essays, the book lacks a conventional plot development. Moreover, it’s not an easy read. The following paragraphs resemble notes I took while reading the book. At the moment, I don’t feel equipped to review this work by Camus.
The Stranger, also known as The Outsider in English, is a novella written by French author Albert Camus in 1942. It stands as the first of Camus’s novels published during his lifetime. The book highlights Camus’ philosophy of absurdism. Although there is no strong story line and writing style is simple, however, I did a couple of pauses here and there to reflect on certain questions about life in general.
